Speak to the Junk Dealer. He will ask you to deal with some Lesser Drakes in the abandoned Talagger factory.
Head past 7th Heaven towards the station. When you reach the Pillar Plaza, look for a guy standing by a gate to the left.
As you make your way through the factory, you will need to find and defeat two sets of these enemies. Enter the first room, and head to the left path into the second room. Now follow the long walkway to the end. One set of enemies is in the room to the left, and the other is in the room to the right of this T-intersection. (Make note of this room to the right for the Just Flew In From the Graveyard side quest.
Once you defeat the Lesser Drakes return to the Junk Dealer for your reward of 500 Gil. |

Well well well. It would seem even the children are in a little need of assistance. Betty is looking for some lost friends. So she asks Cloud and Tifa to help her find her missing friends. There is a catch...they are cats. Luckily, they are not difficult to find. Not only are they pure white cats, but as you pass them, they will meow. Tifa will say something about it as well. Once you find one, approach it....and it will run away.
Worry not. Once you locate and scare off all three, you can return to Betty. Her friends will then come back, and she will reward you with a Maidens Kiss. |
Discovery Quest: Alone At Last
If you complete all of the Odd Jobs for Chapter 3, you will get a small scene with Tifa in your apartment. She will suggest you go out on the town sometime. And this is where you will get the option of what Tifa should wear when you get the chance to. You will then acquire a Crescent Moon Charm.
This is actually the option for what Tifa will wear in Wall Market. This is the only way to get the different dresses for Tifa. If you do not manage to get this Discovery Quest, Tifa will automatically wear her Blue Cocktail Dress.
Chapter 8 Odd Jobs
Before you can begin the Odd Jobs in Chapter 8, Aerith and Cloud need to pick some flowers for the Leaf House. You get to choose from three different kinds.
There are yellow and white flowers, along with foxtails. Depending on which you pick the most of, you will get one of three differnet floral arrangements on the orphanage.
The yellow flowers will get a Chocobo, the white will bring out Mog, and the green will give you a Cactuar. You just have to love the attention to detail.

This one is very simple. Once you see Moggie, you can speak to him. He will offer to allow you to buy a membership card for the Moogle Emporium. Doing so will complete the quest. And you definitely want to do it. It is only one Moogle Medal. And the benefits of the emporium are more than enough for you to do it. |

Paying Respects |
You will find this "Scared Man" just on the outside edge of the Sector 5 slums, heading towards the train station. He will tell you about a set of monsters he saw running rampant. These are a upgraded Monodrive called Mark II Monodrive. You will need to locate 5 of them. The first two are found just past the ladder you opened on your way to Aerith's house in the dead end. The second set of three are found in the clearing in the northwest area of the Scrapyard Back Alley.
These guys are weak to wind attacks, so bring in your Wind Materia. They are quick, and hard to hit. If you cannot hit them with Aero, hit them with thunder to stop them for a second. If they put up their physical block, hit them with some spells to break it again. Be aware of all of them as you fight. They can dig under the ground, and then pop up directly under you. Once all 5 Mark II Monodrives are defeated, head back to the Scared Man for your reward. He will also suggest you speak to the "Old Man" in front of the Weapon Shop. |

Whack-A-Box Mini-game |
Once you complete "Kids on Patrol", you will unlock this mini-game/quest. In order to complete the quest, you have to beat the 10,000 points required. And this is definitely required to do, in order to gain Aerith's best dress. There is really nothing to it. You simply have to destroy the boxes to gain the points marked on them. There are 50pt, 100pt, 1500pt, and time addition boxes. The 50 and 100 point boxes are fairly easy to hit and destroy. Change over to Punisher to take down the 1500pt boxes. Make sure you swing in the right direction as well. There is no target lock, and you swing in the direction you are facing.
The time addition boxes add 0:30 seconds to the timer. Be on the look out for these, as they will greatly aid in success.
As you can see from my first time score in the quest....this is pretty easy to accomplish. I got over 30,000 points in this run.

The Angel of the Slums |
Reward |
2,000 Gil |

Once you complete "Kids on Patrol", speak with Oats in the hideout. He will give you information about this quest. You can then find Damon just to the left of the Community Center. He works for, what appears from the conversation, as a kind of a rag paper reporter. He is searching high and low for someone called Angel Of The Slums. But everyone around is remaining tight lipped on the subject....huh wonder why. He asks you to aid him in uncovering the mystery of this person. Head over to the Community Center, and speak to Mireille right inside the door. She will then head over to the reporter with you. She will speak with Damon, and the information of there being a large monster waiting for the reporter is revealed. Of course he is not for putting himself in danger, so he sends you out to find what he needs. Head out to the Lookout Point past the Steel Mountain. Here you will be greated by said monster Chromogger.
Chromogger is a slow mover, so he is easily dodged. Avoid locking onto his iron sphere, as all physical attacks will bounce off. This will leave you open for a hit or two. Skull Cracker will hit very hard, so dodge out of the way if you can. Two different smog attacks are present as well. The blue on stuns and damages, while the red one damages and silences. Watch out for these if you are not set with blocks for them. Thunder magic is a massive weakness, so bring out your Lightning Materia. Add it to Clouds weapon with an Elemental. If you have a second one, set that with Aerith. Though she might be needed healing more.
After the fight, find the calling card on the back side of the area and return to reporter. He will give thanks, before running off without the reward. Don't worry though. Mireille manages 2,000 Gil from the reporter for you.
Hhhhhhmmmmm....... |

Paying Respects |

Studded Bracer |

You will find the elderly man in front of the Weapon Shop. He will explain that he wanted to go pay his respects to his wife, but monsters have infested the site. He asks if you would defeat the monsters there. Of course there is a side step to this. The graveyard is locked up. But Aerith is right there mentioning Moggie had a key for sale. So if you have not already, head to the hideout and get said key. You need 1 Moogle Medal.
Once you have it, head out towards the Nuts and Bolts Hill. Not too far in, you will see a bridge across some....um....water. And here is your locked Door.
Inside you will see your target. 3 Venomantis are roaming the area, and you need to clear them out.
These vermin are very aggressive, and they can poison you to boot. You do not want to have them gang up on a character. Try to keep them separate enough to deal out damage. They have a weakness to Ice, so definitely feel free to hit them with Blizzara(ga). If there is an option, and you have her, Shiva can lay waste with her Diamond Dust attack, as well as her abilities. Cloud should be in Punisher mode, as his Counterattackis quite strong here. Just focus on one at a time, and eventually the 3 will be gone.
When you are done, Aerith takes a moment for a prayer, and asks for you to. After return to the old man. And of course Cloud is a bit of an ass...but mission complete and the old man has managed to be revitalized into doing things.

Heading towards the train station, you will see Mrs. Folia. (Glad to see her night was good, and she made it home) She cannot find the kids....again. And it is up to you to find them. Well....head abck to the graveyard. Here you will find Oats. The kids were there paying respects, and suddenly laughter was heard, and the kids disappeared. And on que, the laughter comes and brings you some PTSD of the train graveyard. And the enemy makes themselves known.
A duo of Phantoms appear in the area, and the battle begins. These guys are not too difficult, but they can be a little bit of a pain. They can easily disappear, canceling an attack you were doing. That's always fun. They can also move fairly quickly...also causing an attack to miss. Basically make sure when you hit an ability or spell, they are pretty close and stationary. There is no true elemental weaknsess, but magic can do some good damage none the less. When Limit Breaks become available, wait until the phase back in, and let them have it.
Once defeated all the kids come back, and Oats hands over a Time Materia. You do not even have to return to Mrs. Folia. Quest is done. This quest is good to take with the next quest at the same time. |

Chocobo Search |
Reward |
Sam's Delivery Lifetime Pass |
Unlocks |
- |
No matter which direction you go to leave town, you will be stopped by one of the Chocobo Carriage drivers. Apparently in the plate collapse, some Chocobo's got truly frightened and ran off. Being these giant birds are very timid, this is no shock. You will then be given 3 Gysahl Greens to feed them. They should then return to the owners. Easy enough right?
The first time I played, I had no idea where they were located, nor was anyone giving any kind of hints. Second play through I figured it out. On the map that allows you to select a location to ride to, you will see the 3 missing Chocobo locations. They are the Chocobo heads with tears falling. (Everyone in 3, 2, 1.....Aaaaawwwwwwww)
The only non-combat related one is close to the Church. Simply feed it a little green, and watch the cuteness unfold.
The second is located in Nuts and Bolts Hill. This one is not having it. A Rust Drake shows up, and you have to defeat it first. This guy is just simply a stronger version of the previous drakes found. Tifa and Cloud can...erm....jump attack...? Barret comes in handy with a barrage of bullets. He should go down fast. Feed your bird, and continue on.
The 3rd Chocobo requires a little further traveling down the path towards Wall Market. When you come across the path Aerith took Cloud, head on in. You are going to head on through almost to the other side. Here out in the open, in a clearly battlefield layout, you will find your final Chocobo. And it is just so scared. The reason will pop up immediately.
This enemy is no fun at all. Highly resistant to both physical and magical attacks. If you attack it while it is doing its dance ability, it will create a clone of itself. And they love casting Aeroga as well. Their stagger literally lasts 1 second. So what is a poor group of folks to do...?
RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!
I am kidding. Could you imagine if that is how folks were?
First off nail these bad boys with both Silence and Poison. Silence renders the Aeroga void, and Poison will give you a constant drain on their HP. Definitely lock and focus on one at a time. Hit hard with both Cloud and Tifa getting a Stagger. If there is a Limit Break, you can try and get it off in the 1 second you have when it is staggered. This deals massive damage if done. It can potentially wipe them out. If summons are allowed, bring in the strongest. Chocobo and Mog, Fat Chocobo, and definitely Leviathan are the heavy hitters here. Keep plugging away at them, and you will eventually send them packing.
Once you feed your final Chocobo, and endure as much cuteness as you can handle, head to Wall Market. Find Chocobo Sam at his home, and he will thank you for finding his birds. After some lengthy dialogue, he will give you the Sam's Delivery Lifetime Pass. Basically from now on.....all Chocobo rides are FREE! Definitely want to do this one.

Corneo Vault Key |

(Speak to the reporter, before you get to Johnny. He will be at the junction of the path from Sector 5 to the train station) Yup....poor Johnny is gotten a bad deal again. You will find him in the area just past the trains station on the way to Sector 5. He somehow got his wallet stolen by someone. And gives you the descrition of the very lady who was hyping the Wutai - Avalanche tie in earlier. Yup. Seems this is the girl you are looking for. So head on past the train station, towards the church. You'll get a small scene of her passing the fence, as you walk down the alley there. When you get to the church, Kyrie, as you are introduced, is there by the flower bed. But she is not even going to go on about the wallet. Seems she has gotten over her head in other matters as well. Seems she is being sought out in Wall Market for a battle. She agrees to give the wallet back, if you go fight for her. Sigh....
Head back to Wall Market. In Corneo Colosseum you can fight the match in place of Kyrie. The special battle is nothing to worry about. Just get it done, and get back to her. Mireille will then enter the room, and scold Kyrie for being so recless. And here you will get told what you already assumed. Mireille is indeed The Angel Of The Slums. Kyrie happens to be her grandaughter. And you are Avalanche. Not only will you get Johnny's wallet, but you will get Corneo's Vault Key. If you do not activate Johnny's quest, Kyrie will not be here, and the vault key will not come into your possession. So you want to do this quest.
When you are done, head back to Johnny. He will go on about Tifa....of course....and then leave. Objective complete.

So when you complete "Tomboy Bandit", you are given Corneo Vault Key. So what exactly is this for you might ask. Well, you certainly seen the golden dragon locked gate in the Sector 5 Slums. This is what this key is for.
There is actually 3 different locations locked up, that you will need the key for. The first, as mentioned before, is in the Sector 5 Slums. You have definitely seen this one more than once. If not, just head into the Steel Mountain area. It is just before the opening
where you found the missing Chocobo. Here you will find the Ruby Tiara.
The second one is just inside the collapsed freeway. Right where you enter, there is a new small cove to the left. Inside this area you will get the Diamond Tiara.
The final one is a little more difficult to figure out. Unlike any other quest, you actually have to progress the story
through Corneo's Mansion with Leslie. You will reach a point, where you try to surround the Mischevious Shoat. You can continue to the right and you will find the final door. You can unlock it.....but a flooded room prevents entering here. Not to worry. Right after the fight with the little Shoat, you will enter a room following Laslie. You can activate a lever, that shows the water lowing in the room. In here you will have to face a Shagin Prince with some Sahagin henchmen. He is no pushover, so definitely fight smartly. Once you defeat him, you will find the Emerald Tiara.
Now that you are done with the 3 rooms, what should be done next? There was no promt to return....You have to finish the quest with Leslie first. Once you are outside of the sewers, you will be then allowed to return to Evergreen Park, where you will give them to Marle. |

In Evergreen Park, Wymer is going on about something "not good" has come about. Speak to him, and he will explain something terrible is lurking in the newly discovered underground Shinra facility. He tasks you with taking care of it, before it can surface and cause havoc.
Head through the tunnel that took you to the collapsed Sector 7. You will find a off shoot tunnel that was gated off. Head down the ladder here, and into the facility.
Going through the facility is real simple. You are backtracking the way you came up originally. But when you get to the doorway that is now broken open and enter.....you'll find the trouble lurking.
Welcome to Type-0 Behemoth.
This beast is no push over. The Behemoth is very quick for its size. In the beginning, it's actual body cannot be targeted. Only the lower/upper body, and the horn can be hit. The horn however cannot be hit yet. So focus on taking out one of the other two. Barret is great with damage from a distance, as he can easily get out of the way of attacks. As you damage these parts, the main body will damage as well.
In the second phase, the horn becomes vulnerable. This is what you want everyone to begin targeting. You need to destroy the horn, before the stagger ends. If you do not, the Behemoth will use Revitalized. This will bring its parts back to full health, and make the horn once again immune. If this happens, just go through the process again.
Once you destroy the horn, the Behemoth can take direct damage. Plow away at him with your strongest attacks, and combo Limit Breaks to take him down.
Once he is no more, head back to Wymer for your reward. |
