The Earthgift Shrine is found actually on your way to the Temple of Chaos, from Cornelia. There is a cave in the first mountain
on the left. Once you defeat the earth fiend Lich, you will gain access to this shrine.
All the rooms are random in this shrine. Treasure chests may or may not appear, and the items found with in are random as
well.
Being open so early makes this shrine a great place to level up a bit. But remember, you must defeat one of the four bosses
to get out.
The first two sections of the Earthgift Shrine are very straight forward. Just simply go through each area, getting the chests
along the way. Now remember, you might end up in another map after the first one. So head over to each of those, for a briefing
on them.
There is actually to my knowledge, any way of getting out of the Earthgift Shrine, until you actually defeat a boss. Make
sure you have plenty of healing items, and Ethers. Save before you head in, and make sure you are prepared properly. The
greatest enemy in the shrine is Abyss Worms. They have a staggering 2500 HP, and their atttack is 95. If you are in low levels,
you might not be able to handle this enemy.
Unlike the other three shrines, you cannot fight more than one boss at a time. This means you will need to make four different
trips through, in order to defeat every boss. There are rare items to win from two of them, but otherwise there is really
no need to go through all four times. But what is a Final fantasy title, without the challenge?
The first of the many oversized areas in the new sections. This area has random encounters of the likes of Black Goblins,
and Wild Nakk. On top of the random encounters, you will need to face the guards that are standing in your way. It is not
too hard though. They mostly consist of fights with two Skuldiers. There are a few of these guards that actually move around.
Give them a few moments, and they may move out of your way Simply head through the area, and collect the treasures found.
Not too difficult. By level 45, any Knight you have should kill the two enemies with one strike.
This has to be the most difficult map I ever created, and probably ever will again. It took me a total of 6 tries, and seven
months, before it was completed! I am proud of this map. There are 20 different possible points you can enter this map.
And they are scattered all over the place. The trick to this area, is the trees. Once you locate some trees, find the location
on the map, and make your way to the stairs. Like the world map, this map continuously rolls in either direction. So there
is actually no edge to the map. After referencing the map found in Final fantasy Dawn of Souls strategy guide, I can say this
is accurate 100%. Good luck with getting out of this one!
Here we are at the final area of the shrine. Once inside, you will find four doors. Each door leads to one of the shrines
bosses. The top left contains 2-Headed Dragon, the top right contains Ahriman. On the bottom, the left holds Cerberus, and
the right holds Echidna. Heal up the best you can, and pick a door. Examine the blue flame, and get ready for your fight. When
you finish with any of the fights, step through the portal in the room. You cannot go out the door, and this is the only way
out. When you go through the portal, you will be taken to the portal in the center. Step through it, and it will ask if you
want to return to the world. Since you have no choice, select yes. Now if you want to return, you will need to go back through
the shrine. But that is not too hard is it?

Cerberus's main attack is Thunderbolt. In the beginning of the fight, have your White Wizard cast
NulShock. This will lessen the damage of his attack. Have your fighters get powered up with the Giant's Gloves, and have your
Red/Black Wizard cast Haste on them. Then have them join the White Wizard in keeping everyone healthy. For your trouble with
the hound of Hades, you will get the Kotetsu. |
|
Echidna has no real weakness to exploit, so you should again beef the fighters up with Giant's Gloves
and Haste. Echidna uses Earthquake often. This can wipe out characters, if your party is not high enough in levels. If one
falls, get them back on their feet fast with Full-Life. The other favorite attack of Echidna's is Death. But if your levels
are high enough, you should easily evade this. For defeating Echidna, you will get an X-Potion. |
|
The dual dragon is a hard physical hitter. He can easily take 150 HP out of a character each round.
Have your White Wizard's first task to set up Protera to soften the blows. Then set your fighters up with Haste and Saber
from the Giant's Gloves. 2-Headed Dragon is not hard to defeat. You will get the Bard's Tunic for defeating him. This is the
only way you can get a hold of this armor for anyone in your party. |
|
Ahriman has a high resistance to both physical and magical attacks. His own attacks though are not
that powerful. He will cast Cura on himself often for up to 250 HP recovery. Simply beef the fighters up with the usual Haste
and Giant's Gloves, and he will fall fast. You will get a Dry Ether for his demise. When the fight is over, be sure to
open the chest, before you teleport out. |
