Happiness

Balloon Letters are far more benificial than just getting a Scratch Card. Each Balloon Letter received increases the avatar's Happiness, which has a range of 0 - 100. Having a high happiness increases the Scratch Cards and Secret Icons received in letters. When the Happiness is at the highest levels, (Hearts are floating around the Avatar) Sora's Luck is doubled what it currently is. This Happiness boost is the only way to max his Luck out to the 28 cap.
But with the good comes the bad. You get more Balloon Letters with a higher happiness, but opening more also increases the risk of a virus in your Sector. The probability of a Balloon letter infecting your Sector is , where is the base probability the letter is infected (1% for letters from fixed avatars, random avatars, or infected friends; 0% for letters from uninfected friends), and is the number of letters that have already been opened. So one must always be careful with the letters. But still...it is always good to have a higher happiness rate. Something that is benificial to making it through the Avatar Sector.
