The Avatar Sector is a special System Sector that is built by the player, a single floor at a time. Unlike other System Sectors found in the game, the Heartless within the Avatar Sector grow stronger with each passing floor. The Gold Tricholoma, Eliminator, and Data-Riku do not grow stronger however. Otherwise the Level of the Heartless within are determined by the level of the floor you are on. The Avatar Sector has a maximum of one hundred floors. 90 of these floors can only be gotten through Balloon Letters in Tag Mode. These floors can be deleted by the player at any time. Once the Avatar Sector is complete, each floor obtained from Balloon Letters will automatically delete the bottom most floor of the Sector.
Each floor is represented by an avatar, either one of the fifty pre-made avatars, or a random avatar made from mixed parts. Each time Sora clears a floor completing the challenge, he will win an Avatar Part from the parts the floor's avatar uses. Once he has obtained all of the parts from that Avatar, the part will be randomly chosen. For every nine floors obtained from Scratch Cards, the Avatar Sector will automatically add a special tenth floor that has an SP challenge. The ten SP challenge floors eventually culminate in a battle against a bugged Data-Riku.
In addition to Avatar Parts, the Avatar Sector has its own list of Sector Rewards, which grows as Data-Sora goes further into the Sector. Furthermore, Data-Sora is given a title based on how far he has gone into the Sector.
